An old Muslim lived on a farm with hs young
grandson.Each morning Grandpa ws up early
sitting at the kitchen table reading hs Noble
Qur'an.Hs grandson wanted 2b just like hm and tried 2
imitate hm n every way he could.one day the grandson asked,"Grandpa,I try 2 read
the Noble Qur'an jst like u but i don't understand it,
and wht I do understand I forget as soon as I close the
book.Wht good does readng the Noble Qur'an do?"
The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal n
the stove and rplied,"Take ths coal basket down 2d
river and bring me back a basket of water."
The boy did as he was told,but all the water leaked out
b4 he got back 2d house.The grandfather
laughed and said,"u'll hav 2 mov a little faster nxt time,"
and sent hm back 2d river wth the basket to try again.
Ths time the boy ran faster,but again the basket ws empty
b4 he returnd home.Out of breath,he told hs grandfather that it ws impossible
to carry water in a basket,and he went to gt a bucket instead.
The Grandfather said,"I don't want a bucket of water,I want a
basket of water.u're just nt trying hard enough,
"and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.
At ths point,the boy knew it ws mpossible,but he wnted 2
show hs grandfather tht even if he ran as fast as he could,
d water would leak out b4 he got bck 2d house.
The boy again dipped the basket n2 d river and ran hard,but
whn he reached hs grandfa d basket ws again empty.
Out of breath he said,"See grandpa, it's useless!"
"So u think it is useles? grandfather said,
"Look at the basket."The boy looked at the basket n 4 d 1st tym
realized that d basket ws different.It had been transformed from
a dirty old coal basket n ws now clean,inside n out.
"Son,tht's wht happens whn u read the Noble Qur'an.
u might nt understand or remmber everything,but whn
u read the Noble Qur'an, u'll be changed inside and out.
That is the work of Allah (SWT) in our lives.
